Stomach flu
In the hot months of summer, we often find instances of stomach flu. Stomach flu refers to gastroenteritis or irritation and inflammation of the stomach and intestines (the gastrointestinal tract). Gastroenteritis may be caused by a virus, bacteria and parasites in spoiled food or unclean water. Another trigger for stomach flu can be lactose intolerance, which causes a reaction to dairy products.
Stomach flu doesn’t last for very long. However, you can soothe the troubled tummy with the following natural cures—
- Stay hydrated, even if it sounds difficult.
- Electrolyte solution offers relief.
- Sip on homemade lemonade.
- Mix a teaspoon of ginger juice, lemon juice each and pepper it with kala namak. Lick the mixture.
